Kate Green is an award-winning producer/director who recently directed two episodes of the upcoming comedy series One Baby Please (Out TV) produced by her company Kate Green Productions.
Kate is also the creator of the sci-fi short-form series NarcoLeap, which premiered on TELUS Optik TV and CBC Gem; its first season earned a Canadian Screen Awards nomination, a Writers Guild of Canada nomination, three Leo Awards nominations, and multiple international wins, reaching over 2.4 million users and 300,000 views. Season two streamed on Highball TV, earning further accolades including another Canadian Screen Award nomination, six Leo Award nominations, and wins for Best Web Series and acting categories, while her short film Murphy’s Law aired on CBC and won Best Horror Thriller-Wild Bunch Film Festival.
Kate has also worked on numerous programs in lifestyle and factual television as a producer, story editor, or director. Her work has aired on various networks such as Oxygen Network, HGTV, W Network, CBC, History, Discovery, Fuel TV, and Slice. Kate’s first documentary, Not A Stranger, won the “Audience Choice Award” at the Vancouver Short Film Festival and was nominated for “Best ‘Made in Canada’ Short” at Northwestfest. Kate’s second documentary, Melting Stars, won “Best Short” at the International Wildlife Film Festival. Kate’s short film, a zombie western titled Murphy’s Law recently aired on CBC and CBC GEM and won “Best Horror Thriller” at the Wild Bunch Film Festival. Currently, Kate is in post-production for her first feature documentary, Menopause: Coming in Hot and her WW2 drama, Breakthrough.
She is currently a BANFF SPARK participant and an alumna of Women in the Director’s Chair, the National Screen Institute, and the Reykjavík Talent Lab.
