Kai is a writer and producer of immersive experiences for kids with fun, purpose, and heart.
BP Media is a new Toronto-based studio that creates multi-platform storytelling. We bring together the best fit teams for our own IP and for other producers seeking to extend their IP to increase discoverability, audience engagement, and brand loyalty.
As a creator, Kai is drawn to projects that explore intersectionalities of identity, especially gender, race, class, sexuality, and concepts of disability, mental health, and family. Kai has worked on over 100 hours of produced TV, features, shorts, music videos and immersive experiences. This includes creating the Caribbean's first challenge-based travel reality series, "The Golden Nugget" and recently working on CBC Kids' "Gary's Magic Forst" and "Studio K". With an M.A. in Child Development and Education, Kai is a curriculum developer and certified educator with a focus on role-play, STEAM, gamification and accessibility. This included creating a multi-level, curriculum-aligned Minecraft for Spirit of Math Schools.
In 2022, Kai was the first recipient of the YMA-TAAFI John Rooney Creator Fund with "Dream Jumpers" and the first runner-up in the IPF-TZ Pitch competition with "Solstice Stories". Kai completed BIPOC TV's Kids Writing and Showrunner Bootcamps and is an alumni of the Canadian Film Centre and Centennial's Children's Media program.
