I began my filmmaking career writing and directing dramas for RTA Afghanistan and TOLO TV in Afghanistan. In Canada, I work across both fiction and non-fiction content creation. My recent feature documentary, In the Room (NFB), earned me a 2026 WGC Screenwriting Award, and my 2025 short drama, Boutique, won a Golden Sheaf Award at the Yorkton Film Festival. Over the years, I’ve received several awards for my work, including the Outstanding Producer Award from Reelworld Screen Institute and a DGC nomination for In the Rumbling Belly of Motherland. I also produced the CBC documentary Fatima in Kabul, which received nominations for both a 2022 Canadian Screen Award and a 2022 Banff Rockie Award. Through my company, Digital Warriors Productions, I focus on bold, provocative content that challenges the status quo while entertaining and empowering audiences, with a strong emphasis on female-centric stories.
