Emma Catalfamo is an accomplished, creative and visually-oriented person with extensive artistic interests. She is a graduate of Concordia University's Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema; specifically the prestigious Specialization in Film Studies program. This allowed for her to both study film in an academic context and apply this knowledge to filmmaking. She has also studied an MA Filmmaking at The London Film School, which has allowed her to hone in on the craft of filmmaking. She has won numerous awards, including a Bronze Remi for her short film "Kindling", from Worldfest Houston 2019.
Particularly, through film and photography she is interested in telling unique stories and conveying complex imagery and feelings through the creation of visual spaces. Her works are slices of life, realistic events that are shown in ways that defy the mundanity of everyday existence.
