Tamara Black is a Vancouver based writer, director and producer known for her visually striking, surrealist content and eccentric, character driven narrative work. She has built her music video portfolio collaborating with independent Vancouver artists and is a recent recipient of The MVP Project, administered by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. Tamara’s attunement to art direction, colour and styling creates a unique visual exploration in every project. This past June, her short film debut made the Top 20 Finalists as part of Run N Gun, Vancouver’s 48hr filmmaking competition. Along with directing, Tamara produces content for up and coming filmmakers and hopes to expand her production portfolio in the coming year. Her work focuses on courageous and bold voices seeking to change the status quo, stories exploring mental health, sexuality, trauma and female friendships through genre-bending concepts including drama, comedy and horror. Tamara’s work has been featured on Booooooom, ET Canada, Global News, Promonews and the Shiny Awards.
