Cher Merlo is a veteran of Canada’s film, television and digital production industry with an illustrious career spanning 3 decades. Over the years, she has gained a solid reputation as a reliable, easy-going problem-solver who is best known for her diverse skillset and longtime passion for consistently delivering service excellence both on and off set.
Cher brings with her a well-rounded background in on-set production having worked as a camera assistant for over 20 years on multiple commercials, television series and feature films. Her creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and thorough knowledge of production also took her to new horizons as she most recently has been focusing attention on Health and Safety and Sustainability practices.
During the pandemic, she headed up Covid Supervisor duties , previous to that, she worked at Client Services and Business Development for Dazmo Camera/Grande Camera. She also held the role of National Manager at William F. White International Inc. for nearly a decade working with productions of all sizes. This experience allowed her to hone additional practical knowledge of the production rental business and related specialty equipment while building solid and lasting relationships with some of the country’s most well-known producers and production professionals. Cher has also enjoyed stints serving as an assistant art director, scenic painter, SPFX and set decorator on various projects and understands the working dynamic among different departments on set.
Cher has become known throughout the industry for her unbridled energy, positive attitude and ability to connect with people. Her depth of professional experience is also coupled with a vast understanding of and adherence to on-set best practices which have always made her an excellent problem solver.
