Hi there, my name is Shona Grewar. I currently make up half of the founding team at Chaotic Simplicity Productions (C&S). We're a Winnipeg born and raised twin sister duo that are passionate about storytelling. I cannot wait to participate at Banff and share more about the magic that is the C&S team.
I am eager to apply my acquired knowledge from tech and banking to the media space. I consider my training in business to be my key strength in building my production company. Working nearly 3 years in commercial banking has allowed me to gain necessary knowledge and skills to grow a successful business. I now work in tech, where I am learning critical skills regarding investments and scaling startups.
I grew up in the film industry, with my mother as a CFO at a Canadian media company. My first job was assisting her with production accounting and office management, where I developed a passion for the industry myself. I was given opportunities to be on set and developed a passion for the industry. Both myself and my sister have been avid participants in the Winnipeg theatre community, participating in the Winnipeg Fringe Festival and other local productions in Winnipeg.
Although we are just officially launching Chaotic Simplicity Productions, we have multiple scripts and projects in development. We are incredibly excited to be pitching our pilot script for a series we call "Burban Thots." We also own the rights to a few theatrical scripts and we are eager to revise these for TV. Our creative process is what inspired our production company’s name. Together, we enjoy sharing simple ideas about the human experience and building content based on these observations. We have shared many laughs and created many stories over the years.
As millennial and Gen-Z cuspers, we hope to elevate young adult voices and provide diverse stories. While we strive to bring awareness regarding important issues and question certain beliefs and norms, bringing laughter to an audience is our core value and motivation for the content we create.
