Amber-Leigh has spent the last five years working in the service production industry in Vancouver on the production side of over 50 television commercials. Amber-Leigh has worked for many different US based production companies Canadian based service production companies servicing clients such as Airbnb, Audi US, JBL Speakers, and Intel; and collaborating with creative agencies such as Havas, DDB, and Droga5. Amber-Leigh started out as a Production Assistant, but has grown through the production ranks and is now a Production Manager, and starting to dip her toe into Producing commercial Projects. Amber-Leigh is currently working between Vancouver, AB and Calgary, AB.
During this time, she took on the role as Line Producer for "In Love With a Problem" (ILWAP), a short-documentary about two innovative teens who set out to rid the world of plastic waste. Along the way, they discover plastic-eating bacteria, unlock breakthroughs in chemistry and journey from Vancouver to Silicon Valley. Telus Storyhive and CBC funded and are currently broadcasting the documentary, which was shot in both Vancouver and San Francisco. ILWAP is up for four 2022 Leo Award nominations (Best Short Documentary, Direction, Cinematography, Musical Score); winner of Best Environmental Film at the Toronto International Women Film Festival, winner of Best Short Film at the New York Science & Nature Festival; and is a semi-finalist of Berlin Short Award. ILWAP Director Julie Kim and Amber-Leigh are currently collaborating on more documentary projects.
Prior to her time in the film industry she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Comunications from Royal Roads University, managed a multi-million dollar construction project, led promotions for the 2010 Grey Cup in Edmonton, was the communications coordinator for the Edmonton Downtown Business Association and the Inner City Health and Wellness Program, and ran events for Tour of Alberta.
