I come from a background as an independent filmmaker, with training at such prestigious institutions as the Canadian Film Centre and Banff Centre for the Arts. Since 1995 I have been working in the field of online marketing and have always been an avid gamer and consumer of digital content. I work extensively with government organizations and production companies in the film, television and interactive industries in North America & Europe.
My focus is helping content creators and storytellers use the digital opportunity to define, find, attract and engage their audiences and work toward strategic and sustainable business models.
I have sat on the Interactive Fund jury for Creative BC, the Experimental Stream jury for the CMF and other media funding juries, have taught across the country on behalf of such organizations as Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Film Centre, Women in Film, the National Screen Institute and Telus STORYHIVE, and am a highly sought after speaker for media festivals and conferences. I have developed and implemented marketing strategies and gathered and analyzed online data for digital and screen media products as diverse as social TV apps, transmedia experiences, webisode series, feature films, television series and production companies themselves.
My online digital marketing courses and workshops for filmmakers and other media storytellers have been taught across Canada and in conjunction with Boost Hbg in Sweden. Last year I released the first season of a podcast with screenwriter Jill Golick called STORY + AUDIENCE. I have also recently launched a new digital marketing online course for media in conjunction with the National Screen Institute – Canada and released a study with Telefilm Canada entitled "Thanks COVID! 15 Lessons for Film Distribution from the First Wave."
